Torque sensor for concrete production

Torque sensor for concrete production
Torque sensor for concrete production

The main application of this sensor is the measurement of torque (torque) due to the need to measure the power transmitted by the rotating shaft of the concrete production plant.

Improving the accuracy of measuring the effective power on the shaft allows you to more accurately determine the efficiency of the installation, improves product quality, reduces cost and thereby allows you to identify the effect of subtle factors on the efficiency of power plants.

Of particular importance is the measurement of power in high-speed propulsion systems, where in some cases conventional measurement systems are either unsuitable or have low accuracy.

Ensuring stable and continuous operation in some mechanisms requires maintaining their load at a given level - for this it is necessary to constantly monitor the torque. The use of a torque sensor in a concrete plant allows:

- Constantly accurately determine the effectiveness of work (monitoring);

- Exactly manage load distribution;

- Analyze torsional vibrations;

- Recognize deviations in the typical nature of the change in torque and draw conclusions regarding the repair or change in the frequency of maintenance.

The torque sensor belongs to the class of non-electronic hydraulic (mechanical) instruments of high accuracy. It consists of a receiving part, a mounting mechanism and an analog indicator. It is used to measure the input torque (Nm) on the shaft of the mixer while mixing (manufacturing) concrete. Measurements are carried out to determine the viscosity of the resulting mixture, and accordingly, the quality of concrete, to determine the efficiency of the installation, economic indicators, as well as to control the wear of the unit. Torque measurement is an unmistakable way to control the consistency of a mixture, not only in concrete production, but also in other types of mixers.

At the moment, the most relevant way to control the mixer drive is adaptive control, based on data on the current state of the material being produced. The primary control of the ingredients poured into the tank of the concrete mixer is carried out.

Various operating modes of the drive allow more active, or, conversely, slower mixing of the ingredients in the tank of the concrete mixer. In this phase, the required force on the drive shaft is evaluated. Next, the operating modes of the concrete mixer drive are changed. The mode with the greatest effort is used, as a rule, in the final stage of manufacture, when it is necessary to average the mixture over the volume. Modes with lower torque on the motor shaft allow the components of the mixture to react with each other most fully. To obtain data on the force developed on the drive shaft, a torque sensor is used.

Accurate determination of the current torque allows us to conduct the entire process most smoothly, which positively affects the properties of concrete, and also increases the MTBF of the drives. The 103800 sensor has all the necessary technical characteristics for use in a concrete plant:

Accuracy Class: 0.1

Rated Torque: 18000 Nm (Newton Meter)

Protection class: IP54

Operating temperature range: -10 ... +60 ˚С

The torque sensor measures with equal precision both static and dynamic torques, both clockwise and counterclockwise. At the same time, the high torsional rigidity of the sensor is a great advantage in measurements.

             If the rated torque is exceeded, then additional irregular loads are not permissible. These loads include: longitudinal, lateral forces and bending moment.
